Georgetown Carnival 2017 Rules & Regulations
APPLICATION PROCESS: All vendors must fill out an application. Only completed applications will be reviewed. If you are accepted, you will be notified and given instructions on how to pay your booth fee. There are no refunds on payments of any kind. If you are not accepted, you will also be notified. The early bird application deadline is April 15. Applications may not be accepted after May 1.
REVIEW PROCESS: All applications will be screened by the Event Organizers (Georgetown Merchants Association Carnival Committee). We reserve the right to limit how many vendors selected for each category. We reserve the right to decline any vendor at any time. Submitting an application is NOT a guarantee of acceptance.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Event Organizers reserve the right to reject any application if the product does not meet Event qualifications. No hazardous materials are allowed for sale nor any materials that are deemed unfit for sale by law or Event Organizers.
CATEGORY: Only the items/services reflected on your application may be represented at the Event. For example, if you are permitted to vend local goods you may NOT sell imports. Also, no one may sell products that are exclusive to sponsorship contract agreements. Please be aware that Event Organizers reserve the right to limit the number of accepted applicants per category to insure the proper representation of product, merchandise and services.
LICENSES, PERMITS, TAXES: In order to participate in the 2017 Georgetown Carnival, applicants are required to have a current City of Seattle Business License or be included in the Event’s Trade Show License. For more information on business licenses, go to http://www.seattle.gov/licenses. Retail Sales Tax and Business and Occupation Tax are the sole responsibility of the applicant.
PHOTOS: Please submit images of your booth display and/or the crafts/merchandise you will be selling by uploading with your application. If you’d like to submit your photos non-electronically, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for instructions. Photos will not be returned.
HOLD HARMLESS: Applicant agrees to protect, indemnify and hold harmless Georgetown Carnival, the Georgetown Merchants Association, their officers, employees, supervisors and representatives from any and all losses, liabilities, damages, injuries or rights of action directly or indirectly growing out of the use of the premises covered by this agreement.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Vending hours are: Saturday, June 10, 10am - 8/10pm

BOOTH PLACEMENT: We do NOT guarantee specific placement of your booth but will do our best to accommodate requests. To reserve a specific location, please email email@example.com for sponsorship opportunities.
LOAD-IN/LOAD-OUT: If accepted, you will receive load-in/load-out instructions with your booth fee payment receipt.
CLEAN UP: Vendors are responsible for cleaning up their booth site before loading out. Trash, compost and recycling containers will be provided onsite. All food service disposables must be compostable by law. Food vendors are responsible for safely disposing of their cooking oil and ash. Please respect the neighborhood and community by leaving your booth space clean.
RESTRICTIONS: No alcoholic beverages, loud music, televisions or generators are allowed in the booths. Event Organizers reserve the right to restrict activities determined by Event staff to interfere with public areas, safety or programming. This includes aggressive selling outside of your booth. All merchandise and equipment must fit into your booth space. No awnings, displays or products in the fire lanes or pass-throughs.
AGREEMENT: The Event Organizers (Georgetown Merchants Association) implement all policies and are solely responsible for the management of the Event. Event Organizers actions and/or decisions are final. Your acceptance of this application, payment of fees, and your participation as a vendor at the Event, are acknowledgements of your understanding and compliance with these Rules and Regulations. Any conduct contrary to these Rules and Regulations, or behavior, products or displayed items deemed inappropriate by Event Organizers shall be just cause for Event Organizers to immediately request vendor to cease such activities. Event Organizers may revoke said vendor’s permit and request said vendor to immediately vacate the premises if vendor fails to comply with the request to cease and desist. Furthermore, the Event Organizers may remove all property of said vendor from the premises at vendor’s expense. The Event shall not be responsible for storage of said property and is released and held harmless for any loss or damage of said property as a result of such removal.
COMPLIANCE: Submitting the application is a declaration that you have read the above rules and regulations and will abide by ALL throughout your association with the Georgetown Carnival 2017. You and your employees will abide by city and state laws and regulations and understand that GMA staff have the right to ask you or your employees to leave immediately at anytime if you or your staff are causing a public disturbance, endangering guests, or acting in any threatening or hostile behavior.
